World Group, 2009 - Play-off: Serbia v Uzbekistan

A first Davis Cup meeting for Serbia and Uzbekistan.

This is Serbia's 2nd year in the World Group and for the 2nd year it faces a Play-off to retain its status after falling to Spain in this year's 1st round.

Uzbekistan has never competed in the World Group. This is the 5th time that it has qualified for the World Group Play-offs following victories over Korea, Rep. and Japan in Asia/Oceania Group I. It reached this stage of the competition for 4 successive years from 1998-2001 but has yet to win a live rubber in the Play-offs.
